Become a Certified MORE® AntiEtch® Applicator

Marble, limestone, travertine and onyx are beautiful, but they are calcareous stones and acids attack them. A squeeze of lemon juice, a splash of wine or vinegar, coffee, or even some household cleaners can leave dull etch marks within minutes. MORE® AntiEtch® solves this. It is a crystal-clear, ultra-thin coating, cured on site with UV light, that forms an invisible barrier against etching and staining while keeping the stone’s natural colour, veining and feel.

Because of the specialist preparation, curing and finishing involved, AntiEtch® is only available to certified applicators. This course is your route to certification.

Course format

• Online pre-training (included): before you attend, we send you the theory through the online pre-training course, which covers preparation, application, curing and finishing.
• 1-day intensive hands-on training: practical training and evaluation at TileMaster head office, Unit 11/12 Shepley Lane Industrial Estate, Marple, Stockport, SK6 7JW.
• Optional second day: an extra day to practise and build confidence before taking on client work.
• Delegates: the course price covers one person. Additional people from your business can attend for a discounted fee.

What the course covers

The training is almost entirely hands-on and covers applying the MORE® AntiEtch® System to marble and other acid-sensitive worktops and surfaces:

• Grinding and repairing surfaces to prepare them for application
• Applying the MORE® AntiEtch® treatment and letting it self-level
• UV curing of the first and second coats
• Sanding to a honed finish
• Sanding to a polished finish
• Maintaining the treated surface
• Hands-on repair exercises

You will work with the MORE® AntiEtch® Curing System and Festool sanders, both of which are required tools for applying AntiEtch®.

Certification and approved-applicator benefits

Certification follows a practical evaluation. The online course alone does not make you certified, and passing the hands-on assessment is required. Once certified, you join a network of MORE® AntiEtch® applicators and receive:

• The ability to offer your clients a treatment backed by a lifetime warranty against etching and staining
