Ceramic Tile Repair Kit – Clean & Repair Bundle

The Clean & Repair Bundle is our all-in-one kit for ceramic and porcelain tiles. A good repair starts with a clean, grease-free surface, so this kit adds a tile cleaner and a filling knife to the filler and tints in our Basic Bundle. It’s the one to choose if you don’t already own the tools, or you want the job done properly first time.

What’s in the box

• 1 × Ceramic & Porcelain Tile Cleaner No.1 – 250 ml ready to use. A pH-neutral, biodegradable cleaner that removes grime and grease from tiles and grout before you fill.
• 1 × Precision Filling Knife – a plastic knife for pressing filler into chips and cracks and smoothing it off.
• 1 × Tile and Stone Repair Resin Filler – white, 250 g (125 ml) tin, with Part A filler and Part B white hardener.
• 5 × TileMaster Filler Tints – brown, yellow, black, red and green.

How it differs from the Basic Bundle

The Basic Bundle contains only the filler and tints. The Clean & Repair Bundle adds the Cleaner No.1 and the Precision Filling Knife. Want to seal the area afterwards? See the Clean, Repair & Seal Bundle.

How to use

1. Clean the damage. Remove any loose debris, dirt and grease from the chip, crack or hole, then vacuum away the dust.
2. Mask around it. Apply good-quality masking tape around the repair so excess filler stays off the tile.
3. Tint the filler (optional). Take enough filler (Part A) for the repair and mix in a tiny amount of tint at a time until the colour matches your tile.
4. Add the hardener. Add hardener (Part B) at about 3% – roughly a pea-sized amount of hardener to a golf-ball-sized amount of filler – and mix thoroughly. You then have about 15 minutes before the mix becomes unworkable.
5. Fill and level. Press the filler firmly into the damage and level it with the masking tape. Very deep areas may need a two-stage application.
6. Trim flush. After a few minutes, once the filler has started to harden, remove the tape and scrape off the excess with a clean, sharp blade so the repair sits flush with the tile.
7. Leave to harden. Once the filler is completely hard (about 1 hour), a floor can be walked on and used as normal. Curing time can vary with the amount applied and site conditions.

Safety

The resin filler contains styrene. It is a flammable liquid and vapour, causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation, is suspected of damaging the unborn child and causes damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames – no smoking. Wear protective gloves (nitrile or neoprene) and eye protection, use in a well-ventilated area and keep out of reach of children. Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between this and the Basic Bundle?

Both contain the white resin filler with hardener and five tints. The Clean & Repair Bundle also includes a 250 ml Ceramic & Porcelain Tile Cleaner No.1 and a Precision Filling Knife.

Does this kit include a sealer?

No. If you’d like to seal the area after repairing, choose the Clean, Repair & Seal Bundle.

Which filler colour is included?

White. You can tint it with the five included tints; a little brown tint turns white filler into a cream shade.

Why do I need to clean the tile first?

The filler bonds best to a clean surface. Use the Cleaner No.1 to remove grime and grease, remove any loose pieces from the chip, then vacuum away the dust before you fill.
