Job History

This hallway was laid over 80 years ago but for as long as the customer had known the floor had always been covered up by carpet and had never seen the floor to its full potential. Over the years with new carpets and abuse the floor had been covered in carpet adhesive, paint and whatever else had been spilt during decorating over the years. It wasn’t until the customer decided to redecorate again that they was interested to find out what the floor would actually look like restored so they called TileMaster Harrogate for a demo. Straight away they knew a restored original floor was better than another carpet.

Client Requirements

The customer required the following from the contractor

1) A clean restored floor

2) Removal of paint, plaster and carpet adhesive

3) A seal to protect against from water and oil spillages

4) Leaving the coloured tiles it a wet look finish and a nice shine

Tile Master Specification

As this floor had the adhesive on first of all we have to coat the areas in TileMaster Stripper and using the TileMaster Machine with Pad C until all the adhesive, paint and thick soils have gone, extracting on way.

Once the Floor looks to be in a clean state we would then use the Diamond pads working from the 400 grit with cleaner Number 2 and to start bring in a shine. We would work up the grit levels until desired shine is achieved.

For sealing and giving the floor the wet like finish we coat with TileMaster Colour Enhancing Sealer which made all the different colours stand out at the same time protecting the floo0r from spillages.
