Porcelain Mitre Edge Kit Basic
Mitred porcelain edges look sharp when they’re right and obvious when they chip. The Mitre Edge Kit Basic gives installers and fabricators the core materials to fill chips and imperfections on porcelain mitre joints and blend the repair into the tile.

- 1 × Tile and Stone Repair Resin Filler – your choice of cream or white, 250 g (125 ml) tin with Part A filler and Part B white hardener

Choose the Basic kit if you mostly work with one tile colour range and already have abrasives for finishing the edge.
How to use
- Remove loose debris, dust and chipped material from the edge, then vacuum.
- Mask around the repair with good-quality masking tape.
- Mix tint into the filler a little at a time until it matches the porcelain edge.
- Add the hardener (about 3%) and mix thoroughly – you have about 15 minutes to work.
- Press the filler firmly into the chip with the plastic filling knife, working it in to avoid air gaps, and smooth it flush with the edge. Deep repairs may need more than one application.
- Peel off the tape as the filler begins to firm up.
- Leave to cure fully before use – curing time varies with the amount applied and site conditions – then inspect and refine if needed.
Safety
The resin filler contains styrene. It is a flammable liquid and vapour, causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation, is suspected of damaging the unborn child and causes damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames – no smoking. Wear protective gloves (nitrile or neoprene) and eye protection, use in a well-ventilated area and keep out of reach of children. What’s the difference between the Basic and Pro mitre kits?
The Basic kit has one filler (cream or white), six tints (including blue) and a plastic filling knife. The Pro kit has both cream and white filler, the same six tints and plastic filling knife, plus a Porcelain Mitre Sandpaper Set with coarse, medium and fine grades.
Which filler colour should I pick?
White is the better base for pale and grey porcelain; cream suits warmer, beige tones. Both can be tinted.
Can I use it on porcelain worktops?
Yes – it’s intended for porcelain worktops, steps, external corners and large format tiles, as well as standard mitred tile edges.
Can I buy the sandpapers separately?
Yes. The Porcelain Mitre Sandpaper Set is sold on its own.
